Hosted EDI

GamutEDI is the world's only hosted EDI service which provides a complete, truly secure, business management solution incorporating EDI message handling, document translation, scanpack, barcode label printing, inventory control, warehouse automation, and fully integrated financials.

Gamut's hosted EDI service is an ideal platform for small manufacturers, wholesalers and importers who are undertaking electronic trading for the first time. For a small monthly fee based on the number of named users we provide a complete solution for exchanging documents with Australia's retail majors. Based on Gamut's CubeSystem ERP software the service can be used for your entire accounting and warehouse management needs. Alternatively data translated from EDI messages can be exported to your current accounting software. Our Hosted EDI servers utilise the ultra-secure THEOS operating system to deliver virus-free, hacker-resistant security of your confidential data. Our servers are housed in a local, high-availability data centre, fully managed by Gamut to ensure safe continuous operation 24 x 7.

GamutEDI

Gamut's hosted EDI service utilises our fully EDI-compatible CubeSystem ERP software. CubeSystem contains all of the functionality required to exchange EDI messages with your customers directly from standard business processes.

The following diagram illustrates how CubeSystem typically implements Electronic Data Interchange.

As a user of our Hosted EDI service you can utilise CubeSystem as a complete business management solution or utilise only those processes directly required to implement EDI. Using a fully integrated system can deliver significant efficiencies, particularly as you grow. But if you prefer to minimise changes to your internal procedures, data can be exported from CubeSystem to your current accounting software.

Minimum Requirements

To access Gamut's hosted EDI service all you need is a personal computer connected to the Internet.

As part of your hosting contract we will supply terminal-software that enables you to securely communicate with our EDI server and use the service. You can load the terminal-software on as many Windows PCs as you like, but each named-user subscription provides only one log-in to our EDI server at a time. Depending on what other parts of the system you wish to use, you will need to make certain other hardware available to the system.

Standard Laser Printer. To print picking slips, reports etc., you should have a standard laser printer available on your local area network. We recommend Kyocera laser printers, but any printer that utilises HP printer language should work. Contact our support team support@gamut.com.au to confirm whether a specific printer is compatible with our EDI system.

Label Printer. To print SSCC labels you will need a barcode printer. We support barcode printers from a number of manufacturers. Most of our clients use Zebra or Monarch label printers.

Barcode Scanner. For scan-packing you will need to have a barcode reader. Our systems are compatible with inexpensive barcode readers that are attached directly to a PC or notebook, or wireless mobile computers. Please contact your Gamut consultant or our support team for assistance with purchasing suitable barcode scanning equipment.

Value Added Network. EDI Messages are delivered between trading partners over a Value Added Network (VAN). If you have already established an account with an existing VAN supplier our hosted EDI service can be configured to communicate with that VAN. Alternatively, we can provide a mailbox with one of our VAN partners for a small charge per message.
