About Gamut

The Gamut story begings in 1984 when Bayswater Computer Services Pty Ltd was formed to provide hardware engineering services and develop software for IBM mainframe computers.

Soon afterwards BCS began developing dedicated software for OASIS - a multi user operating system that ran on generic computer hardware which became known as the "IBM-compatible" PC.

BCS achieved considerable success introducing a Community Banking system that could be purchased by credit unions at low cost, and later a general business management and accounting application that could be used by a wide variety of businesses, but was particularly suited to those which made or sold physical goods.

With its increased focus on developing and supporting business software, BCS changed its name to Cube Systems Pty Ltd and rebranded its various products as the "Cube System".

Due to its low cost and powerful features, the Cube System was widely adopted by small-medium sized businesses across Australia and New Zealand during the 1990s. The software was gradually extended to incrorporate a full range of enterprise features including:

In 2005 Cube Systems was acquired by Gamut Group Pty Ltd, a Melbourne-based developer of document management software. Gamut consolidated its DocumentArk document management software with the Cube System and released a Windows version of the combined software in 2007. A year later, Gamut commenced operations in the United States with the formation of SiteFortress LLC which provides truly secure web hosting facilities based on OASIS (now called THEOS Corona). Gamut's softare development activities were transferred to Gamut Australia Pty Ltd. In early 2010 Gamut will release Gamut on Demand - an online version of the Cube System that will be made available on a monthly subscribtion basis to anyone with a web-browser connected to the Internet.

Gamut on Demand will be delivered on the SiteFortress platform, providing customers with all the benefits of cloud computing but with none of the security concerns.

With support for multiple languages, currencies and country business rules, Gamut on Demand is suitable to businesses of all sizes from across the globe, and in 2010 Gamut is supporting this global vision by extending its operations to the Middle East and Europe.
